Sales & Bid Manager

About the Job

Be our hands-on proposal lead and deal runner. You will both coordinate and execute; find and qualify tenders, build winning proposals, and directly run assigned sales opportunities from first meeting through close. You’ll work with SMEs, Legal & Finance, and PMO, and you’ll keep our proposal library and CRM pipeline accurate and up to date, so our forecasts are reliable.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead Critical Projects:

    – Monitor tender portals daily, log opportunities, manage trackers and reviews, ensure on-time, error-free submissions.

  • Project Planning & Monitoring:

    – Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and risk registers.

  • Multidisciplinary Coordination:

    – Lead and align cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, quality, logistics, and procurement.
    – Facilitate effective collaboration between internal departments and external stakeholders.

  • Bid & Proposal Support:

    – Participate in bid preparation: define project scopes, schedules, resource plans, and cost estimates.

  • Client & Stakeholder Engagement:

    – Serve as the primary point of contact for project-related matters.

  • Field Leadership:

    – Maintain a regular presence on project sites and manufacturing facilities to ensure alignment and address issues in real time.

Required qualifications

 
Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • PMP and/or MBA is an asset (helpful but not required)
  • 5–8 years of progressive experience in sales and/or bid management.
  • Strong track record of preparing and submitting RFP/RFQ/RFI responses.
  • Background in manufacturing, engineering, or rolling stock sector preferred.
  • Experience both finding and running deals (from first meeting to close) is a strong asset.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Pipeline & Process Discipline: Able to enforce governance rules, keep CRM data current, and hold teams accountable.
  • Proposal Mastery: Skilled at drafting, packaging, and delivering zero-defect proposals under deadline pressure.
  • Technical & Commercial Fluency: Comfort working with engineers, CFO/legal, and SMEs to align scope, price, and terms.
  • Systems & Tools: Proficient with CRM (Zoho/HubSpot), MS Project/Excel, and SharePoint; able to design and manage trackers, compliance matrices, and dashboards.
  • Communication & Leadership: Confident with executives, clients, and partners; able to coordinate across functions and drive accountability.
  • Languages: Fluent in French & English (spoken and written).
Mobility
  • Willingness to travel approximately once per month for client, partner, or event commitments.
